Neuro-Hitech, Inc. is a New York-based biopharmaceutical company that is focused on developing innovative drugs for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Our lead product candidate, Huperzine A, is being clinically tested for safety and efficacy in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. In addition to the oral formulation currently being clinically studied, NHPI is also developing the drug in a transdermal patch. The companies other programs include innovative compounds for epilepsy and disease-modifying compounds for AD that block aggregation of B-amyloid and tau-proteins.
Neuro-Hitech’s Partners include:
Neuro-Hitech has collaborated with the Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study, the National Institutes of Health and Georgetown University Medical Center to complete Phase I studies for Huperzine A, and is currently conducting Phase II clinical trials.
Neuro-Hitech has been working under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the Walter Reed Army Institute to study the potential for using Huperzine A for various applications including a nerve gas antidote.
Neuro-Hitech has reached a development agreement with Xel Herbaceuticals to develop a transdermally-delivered product that
will increase convenience, decrease caregiver burden and
allow
once-weekly dosing.
Additional Strengths:
Neuro-Hitech has completed the double-blind part of its Phase 2 clinical trial of Huperzine A in the treatment of patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s diseaseis. The study included 210 participants at 32 locations using Huperzine A for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease in a randomized controlled trial. Top line data release expected Q1-2008
